Reader comment on: That Used To Be Us

Anyone that knows the facts and is intellectually honest could not possibly blame Granholm for the loss of Michigan jobs. The crash and bank debacle thanks to lack of good regulation, and fanatical outsourcing by the auto compaines are the cause. How could Granholm hope to stop economic forces she had no control over. What could we in Michigan do? Gut wages to Chinese levels? Reduce enivronmental regulations to Chinese standards? Granholm would have had to be some kind of super woman to be able to save Michigan from decline. She was not. When the government did save the auto industry with bailouts Michigan recovered.
