It is a sign of how much better cars have gotten that folks don't know how to handle this. Back in the days of carberators it was the case that the carberator might ice up if it was humid and a bit above freezing, killing the engine. Then you quickly felt how the car steered and braked without boost. So its a sign of improvement that what used to happen often until the car warmed up on cool days is so unusal that it becomes an issue.
