I agree with Lyle that technology advances are inevitable. Where I disagree is that the minimum wage does make the cost benefit analysis a reality sooner than it might happen "naturally."

I have always said that the minimum wage hikes are great for IT, software and hardware workers but they are not entry level workers. The skills of a first job are going to get harder and harder to find for future youth. They will not have the fast food stories to tell their grand kids. They will have to settle for the "walking 10 miles uphill both ways in the snow" stories...
