Media speculation has focused on the potential negatives to this proposed merger instead of even considering the upside. Comcast is a business and I hope it is successful if the merger is approved. You are correct about people having choices, too. It's not a government enforced service. I think it is forward thinking and ready to be a model of philanthrocapitalism, perhaps.
