Folks don't ask for a Transcript??

It seems a minimum requirement for hiring someone who claims a college degree would be to ask for a transcript. That will clearly disclose if a degree was earned or not. Failure to ask for and recieve one would IMHO constitute HR mal-practice. It is suprising so many organizations don't ask for and check the transcript.
