If I steal a watch I go to jail, if I steal a house. . .

US attorneys should be criminally prosecuting many of the actors who peddled fraudulent financial products. If we do not claw back earnings, and there is not threat of jail time, many of these bankers who acted illegally will get off scott free. If we are serious about keeping mortgage brokers and bankers within the law, the law must have some teeth. These people essential stole equity out of many homes to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars in some cases. To think that a person goes to jail for stealing a car worth 10k, but not a house worth 500k is ridiculous.
