Well, politicians take money from anyone, that is no surprise. But it reminds me of the old Eddie Murphy movie in which his aide says he can get donations from both sides of the debate. If Obama is taking money from oil companies (far less than Republicans of course) but also from members of the Sierra Club (far more than Republicans) one can rightly conclude that he is more friendly towards environmentalists than big oil. Ultimately, I do not care who a politician takes contributions from so long as the policy comes out how I want. If a company tries to "buy" off a public official with contributions and it has no effect, great.
