Bernie Sanders has the integrity to admit that our high immigration rate means lower wages and higher unemployment for Americans, and particularly for poor Americans.
From 2000 to 2014 the working-age, native-born population increased by 16.8 million, yet the number employed fell by 0.1 million. The number of working-age immigrants increased by 8.8 million and the number working rose by 5.7 million. The few jobs created in our mature, slow growth economy are going to immigrants. The immigration rate needs to be cut.
