From 2000 to 2014 the working-age, native-born population increased by 16.8 million, yet the number employed fell by 0.1 million. The number of working-age immigrants increased by 8.8 million and the number working rose by 5.7 million. The few jobs created in our mature, slow growth economy are going to immigrants.
