Obama

Reader comment on: Jonathan Alter on the Today Show

It is worth remembering that Obama's popularity is, in no small part, a function of a main stream media which has fawned over him like no politician in memory. Speaking or writing critically about Obama personally is akin to racism to a significant portion of big media and this unfortunate circumstance has largely immunized him from the sort of nasty and unrelenting personal attacks which George Bush endured during his entire presidency. He is also, personally, a blank slate because virtually all of the information about his past comes from Obama himself due to the unfortunate fact that access to official documents and educational records has been so thoroughly prevented by Obama himself, directly and indirectly.
