Nope -- not a good comparison

Reader comment on: In Defense of Theranos

Netflix delivered what was originally a revolutionary product by means of Amazon Web Services (presuming it uses AWS). The product was streaming video, completely and adequately delivered. The reason people are concerned about Theranos is because it specifically promised a whole new technology to do the testing itself. Their promised product was the tiny pinprick blood test. They appear to be spending investment money to buy market share using old-fashioned (and someone else's) technology -- specifically the technology they were promising to upend -- while NOT delivering the product they promised. If that's all they do, then there would seem to be no reason for them to exist. People are concerned that the product itself is vapor-ware.

We shall see. But in the meantime, it seems to me kind of obtuse not to be able to distinguish between these cases.
