McDonald's and the French Labor Code

we first saw these self-service ordering machines in Bordeaux. the French are famous for their Labor Code, which is thought by business to be very burdensome. It would be my guess that McDonald's France has been a leader in automation. at the store that we visited there were 5-10 machines, and there was a line in front of every one of them.
