Older folks recall Pravda as a source of fake news (as we were told)

Pravda was taught to folks growing up in the 1950s and 1960s as a prime source of fake news as was Radio Moscow (and Radio Peking if you could get it on the shortwave), Moscow had transmitters that blanketed North America. But because I grew up in Detroit during that period you could see that even US media gave out fake news about Vietnam, at least when you listened to the CBC news on the war. The CBC station at the time was not the strongest signal but could be received on the AM radio.
