The main issue will be getting the tax id number. Once that is input to Quicken, it could easily be modified by the vendor to print the 1099s, since it will have the payment information. Note that this will also make embezzlements harder since there will be a 1099 to review. Now this does assume a computer at the business, but in today's environment where computers are inexpensive it makes lots of sense to use a computer. At a minimum the accounting package could output a list of 1099s that are due.
