If your going to condem Amazon you also need to condem WalmartReader comment on: Amazon State Sales Taxes Submitted by Lyle (United States), Nov 17, 2017 15:13 Walmart also has an affiliate program on its web site and does essentially the same thing. http://help.walmart.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/36/~/how-we-determine-sales-tax The affiliates are free to set their sales tax policy, and most do not charge sales tax on deliveries to states where they do not have a nexis just like affilates at Amazon. Amazon direct sales went to collecting sales taxes where imposed because they want to start delivery services in most states, but again that does not affect the affiliates. So it is just bad journalism to not include that Walmart.com does the same thing in the article. (Likely the writer was to busy to check out Walmart and/or Targets web sites. Also that the fact checkers don't add this as well. Perhaps a sign of journalistic understaffing. Note: Comments are moderated by the editor and are subject to editing.
