Reader comment on: CNBC Catches Barney Frank on Housing

The reporter who digs up one e-mail proving Barney Frank, Christopher Dodd, Rahm Emanuel and Barack Obama engineered an economic slowdown (it's the economy stupid) for the 2008 election season will win the Pulitzer. What's better than a government backed loan of up to $750,000 for the areas of the country where that price buys a bungalow? Nothing, really. So, by suggesting such a loan would be available shortly in August of 2007, it put every bank on hold. No houses sold. The economy crumbled. More than they thought it would, but with Patreaus having resolved the war issue, "it.s the economy stupid" was once again the defining issue that would elect a Democrat.
