Ubers Drivers are not employees

Uber is enforcing this idea in Court as it is sued by drivers who claim they are. So you state things wrong Uber is one of the Gig economy places where those who do the job are not employees. (As is also true of Lyft) in addition I suspect that the driver cited is working less than 30 hours a week so that even if she were an employee she would not be eligible for health insurance. The idea of drivers being independent business people is an important part the business model. Sort of like the franchise environment in fast food where the folks at the franchise store are not the franchisers employees.
