Reader comment on: How Scott Adams Got the Trump-North Korea Story Right

Submitted by John Gillis (United States), Mar 13, 2018 19:04

While Scott Adams has had fun and success in tweaking the NYT and other rabid Rump haters, the idea that Trump is some remarkable negotiator and has cowed the NK is not credible. The best current analysis I've seen is by Tracinski in The Federalist (12 March), who makes a good argument that Trump has already been "had", because the "negotiating" that is planned is similar to the play that NK did to B. Clinton and to Bush II and to Obama. When the U.S. starts to get tough, the NK get all cuddly and say they will cooperate, and it's all a sham. I suspect the only answer to the NK threat is a) the U.S. convinces China to cut NK loose to sink into the morass of communistic destruction, or the U.S. militarily destroys NK. Any negotiations with NK are likely doomed because the leaders there live only to subjugate the populace and they can't do that if they become more open.
