Since he worked for them Since he was campaign manager you could at least say the campaign knew what the Russians wanted. Trump's knowledge is doubtful since it appears he does not like much detail. Perhaps that is Trump's best defense, he does not sweat the details, but is a big picture person and did not worry about what his underlings were doing. Combine Manafort with Padapolous and you do have a lot of relationships.
