Nobel Prize for peace was always controversial

Reader comment on: Obama's Nobel

Nobel Prize for peace was always controversial. Dalai Lama, San Sui of Burma, Jimmy Carter, Mandela to Obama. It neither goes to extreme left, nor to extreme right. It is always given to defuse the monopoly of either extreme (e.g. Carter and Obama), and Dalai Lama to embarrass the Red Communists. The extreme side always feels it betrayed. In US, Republicans today feel it betrayed. Republicans looking for smart (small govt, less govt. expenditure) government spent huge chunk of money just to settle Son Bush settling unbalanced account that his father left with Saddam Hussain. I feel sorry for Republicans.
