What business does the Federal Government have threatening fines and imprisonment on product designers in order to attempt to make their products decrease the usage of some other product? None! It has no business doing anything of the kind.
Only a specialized historian might have determined how much pre-bailout Chrysler was bankrupted by its own bad decisions versus by the Federal Government's regulatory folly.
