Romney WonReader comment on: Thoughts on the Republican Debate Submitted by ben (United States), Sep 7, 2011 22:49 I dislike all of them, but in the interest of a bit of concern trolling. . . If you are a person who wants to oust Obama, you are taking a huge chance on Perry. A Perry and Romney Presidency wouldn't look all that different. The Democrats will still be able to filibuster in the Senate, so abolishing Social Security (their main difference at this point) is unrealistic for everyone.) So if the question is electability, Romney is head and shoulders a better general election candidate. He is less like Bush (I couldn't believe how much Perry was like Bush - it was actually a bit shocking), less prone to be hot headed, and has a national campaign under his belt. If unemployment stays high, why would the Republicans try to shoot the moon with Perry, when they have an electable alternative? Note: Comments are moderated by the editor and are subject to editing.
