Doctors getting a raise?

Reader comment on: Congress Passes 'Doc Fix'

The SGR cuts are a cut, and the 2% "raise" comes nowhere near equalling the increased cost of salaries or healthcare for our employees. Personally, I would be fine with the cuts if the Balanced Billing Restrictions were abolished and we could set our own fees. If that was the case, then the patients could decide if my services are worth it to them, or if they want to go to the cut rate doctor down the street. The market would decide. As it is now, the federal government sets all fees, good doctors and bad doctors get paid the same rate, and, as Medicare runs out of money, the fees are increasingly being set below the cost to deliver care.
