Even the absurdly overblown $180 Billion (10 year) claim is a sick joke on the economy. Looked at in context, an additional $18 Billion/year is less than a proverbial drop in the bucket of U.S. govt expenditures. My conclusion: this is intended as a purely punitive measure against the financiers of our country. Since the founding (and before) financiers have been one of the most preferred targets of malicious politicians who think they have the right to steal any amounts of money from various segments of the populace.
