I read, in one of the politically incorrect books on Islam, that 72 virgins aren't the only promise made to martyrs. I believe doe-eyed boys are also promised to those to give up their lives for Allah. Thus, while they kill homosexuals in this world, they themselves are promised young boys who will "serve them as if they were preserved pearls" in the next.
