Wouldn't be simpler if there were no taxes at all? Wouldn't it be simpler if we just had a dictator to make all the decisions instead of this messy Democracy thing? I agree with simplicity to point - simplify the tax code so people cannot deduct anything. Use the tax code for social policy (tax credits for childcare etc) is a lot less simple than just providing for childcare. Then we might finally have the wealthy actually pay the percentage of their income that they are supposed to pay. How many people in the top tax bracket actually pay 36% to the feds in income tax I wonder?
