Thank you for your email about Steve Utkus's recent blog on economicstimulus programs. As a Vanguard blogger, Mr. Utkus is charged with sharing his personal and professional perspectives on issues facing investors. The post represented his understanding of how the federal economic stimulus programs might be viewed historically. The focus of the blog was on certain macroeconomicprinciples and was not intended to endorse specific political leaders orparties. More importantly, Mr. Utkus's views are his own and notnecessarily those of Vanguard. They do not influence how Vanguard manages our clients' assets. We regret if some readers viewed the posting as taking a partisan position; in fact, he has since clarified his post to address these kinds of concerns.
