"Actually, though, what raises the risk of war is the existence of an unfree, undemocratic regime in Russia.

Such regimes are drawn to foreign adventurism as a way of distracting their populations from their own misery. A free and democratic government in Russia would reduce the risk of war."

Yeah, so how did we get into Vietnam and Iraq, which are comparable to Russia in Afghanistan and Russia in the Ukraine?
