I don't think Geomagic's NSF contracts are particularly damning. What is more troubling is the fact that Ping Fu hung out with Michelle Obama during the 2010 SotU speech, she's a member of Obama's National Advisory Council on Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and she was recently asked to join the "Startup America" effort.

It's not like he picked Geomagic out of the blue - she's getting in deep with the administration.
