In the Netherlands, when they wanted to bring down prices for medical care, they lowered admission standards for medical schools. The market was flooded with doctors, and prices came down - but at what cost? In our country, the best and the brightest are often opting for the drastically quicker routes offered in business and law school. Do you want a ready supply of good doctors? Pay MORE. What would you rather spend your money on?
