Dr. Redberg's ideas are very refreshing, and, also, provide a means to great reductions in government health care outlays. Too many people, including both the GOP and Democratic Parties, placate the Medicare crowd--or whatever crowd is receiving government services. This has caused 'MediScare' politics, which has resulted skyrocketing costs due to policies by both parties. It is time for doctors like Rita, as well as supporters of capitalism, to standup and start calling for these common sense changes to Medicare, no matter how unappealing the changes are to the electorate. People need to understand that not every procedure is called for, or will be approved; and need to understand that government assistance, so long as it exists, isn't a 100% guarantee of the fulfillment of your desires or well-being.
