Progressive FatherhoodReader comment on: Obama Versus Video Games Submitted by Caroline (United States), Jun 23, 2011 11:29 I think he is pronouncing on child-rearing because male libs like to flaunt how progressive they are by being highly involved fathers. This is to contrast themselves with the old-school patriarchs who just worked really hard and aimed to be good providers. It has been observed that the president tends to fashion his schedule to get plenty of "quality time" with his family, while letting everyone else work long hours away from their families. I think that every organization now has one of these super-involved fathers and knows that the rest of the team is going to have to work late to compensate for that person's "quality time." I am curious about why his children are jetting off on international junkets throughout the school year. If he wants street cred on fatherhood, they should be home hitting the books.
