Herd InstinctsReader comment on: New Yorker on Ray Dalio Submitted by Caroline (United States), Jul 19, 2011 19:34 I describe this as herd instinct, not to say that that the journalists are operating literally in a herd, but simply that they are adopting and espousing the prevailing anti-capitalist narrative of their profession, rather than objectively following the facts of a story. This seems increasingly common in business journalism, in which many supposed economics experts use their media platform to disparage business and capitalism.
