Reader comment on: The Best Case for Immigration Reform

Submitted by Ron (United States), Jan 28, 2010 17:49

I don't understand the logic of requiring individuals who have studied in the US and who have received graduate degrees in the US (especially in the sciences and technology) being forced to return to their home countries after the completion of their studies in the US in order to get on an immigration waiting list.

It is really a shame that we (I can't - anyone have some ideas?) cannot place a monetary value on the possible future benefit that might accrue to the US economy by permitting these ex-students to remain in the US.
