Can you say, "Disconnected"?Reader comment on: Occupy Boston Occupies Israeli Consulate Submitted by @Johnsin (United States), Nov 5, 2011 14:40 So essentially what you are trying to tell us is that you are incapable of separating the idea of critiquing Israeli human rights policies and respecting the Israel's right to exist? No one is saying that Israel doesn't have a right to exist. I'm sure if you went up and asked every person there that exact question a majority would say "Yes". Then you double down by propping up your assumptions with an observations that have no basis in reality. To even consider that #Occupy isn't supportive of the Syrian democracy movement just shows how disconnected from the reality on the ground you are! Then you try and stoke the nationalist fires in everyone by questioning #Occupy's patriotism by making it seem hypocritical when in fact many of the corporate grievances being made are in themselves protests of China and the corporations that profit from that countries authoritarian regieme. You are apparently unable to grasp the simple fact that the US government has much more political influence over Isreal then it does of China. If you have forgotten already Isreal's very existence is propped up by US money. I can't think of the last time we every loaned out or gave US tax payer money to China. In reality China props up us, and we prop up Isreal. Then the profits of almost everyones oil consumption props up the enemies of Isreal. Honestly the #Occupy movement wants to end this ridiculousness of people and corporations wagering against the success of peace. It just seems like certain entitie-s within the world economy choose to use their influence in the world to only cause more misery and dysfunction in this world because it creates a volitile and profitable marketplace. This must stop. The needs of corporate profits will no longer trump the needs of the people that empower those very corporations. Don't get me wrong. This is revolution and thousands dare I say millions of 20&30 something professionals like myself will fund the revolution from within.
