How Many Times, Indeed: Has Debate Prep Gone The Way of the Dinosaur?

Reader comment on: NBC's Debate Flop

I'm with Bilge Horse on this: where has debate prep gone? Why do pedestrian, foreseeable questions come at the candidates as if from outer space?

Reading Mr. Stoll's conclusion, " But I found the whole two hours or so mildly depressing," I thought how even-keeled and even a cheerful man he must be. If a viewer began watching the debate somewhat fretful or mildly depressed, by the end he or she would have been despondent, verging on inconsolable.

This is what we Republicans are going to put up to fight Obama? Not that I think Obama is Mr. Eloquence or has a brilliant record to run on, but this crew is not inspiring.

And Mark Simon: when you come back from Japan you may better understand how valuable Ira Stoll is. He is head and shoulders above every other blogger in the country or the world. So there. And no, I'm not related to him, although I wish I were.
