Ira, I don't think you can lump me in with the paternalists. In fact, I wrote a book more than 10 years ago about giving Americans more personal control and decision making power in government. I'm off from Democracy now, as you indicated, on other adventures but even while there I didn't agree with everything in our pages -- the point was to spark debate. Glad that Ethan Porter's piece did that!
