It makse sense!Reader comment on: Student Loan Bankruptcy Forgiveness Submitted by Felipe (United States), Jul 20, 2012 11:09 I think that private student loans which are NOT federally backed and like any other type of unsecured debt and DO NOT cost the taxpayer any money should never have had bankruptcy protection removed from them in 2005. So anyone that will troll around on here and talk about personal responsibility should ask those questions to Donald Trump who has bankrupted many business and kept his money. There was a senator that owned 2 million dollars and his lawyer argued it was the banks fault for lending him money they knew he could not pay back and was able to bankrupt it. Much like the private lenders predatory lending and giving to people fully well knowing they can't pay it back and will lead people into default. Return bankruptcy to private student loans is important and then the next step is to allow those that really REALLY need to on their federal ones the same consideration.
