Don't forget, this was a midlife crisis

Reader comment on: Kristof's Roommate Update

Submitted by David (United States), Oct 19, 2012 20:26

According to your earlier post, Kristof admitted he suffered a mid-life crisis. If I recall, Pelosi said that freelance artists and writers shouldn't sacrifice their creative dreams for lack of medical care, but by what logic should someone's dreams to paint or midlife crisis impose a burden on me? Maybe his roommate should have made provisions for himself before jumping off his Rat Race. Likewise, his lack of coverage through a spouse as an argument for gov't. imposed medical insurance just illustrates how the State takes advantage of the erosion of traditional kinship to enlarge itself, again at the expense of those whose choices (career, marriage) are at odds with the recipients of govt. largesse.
