To have a hope of being president you need to do well in the retail politics of Iowa. You can not oppose the corn ethanol mandate in Iowa and hope to do well in the primary. So all senators and congress folks who have any thoughts of running for president can't oppose the corn ethanol mandate. (Of course after last year the price of corn is down by 50% so expect to hear stories about ag troubles in Ia soon).
