Liberals need something to fix with never-ending new programs

Poverty is no longer much of a problem -- not in the traditional sense of people starving or goingwithout clothing okr homeless. Well, street people still exist, but they're mostly suffering from emotional problems of one sort or another. In short, social welfare programs are substantially working.

However, inequality will never go away. And, it provides a sources of Devils to hate. It's a political winner.
