Move Wall Street to Kansas CityReader comment on: Krugman Gets One Right Submitted by Lyle (United States), Nov 30, 2015 19:49 Then there are no natural barriers to growth within 500 miles (The Rockies being the nearest barrier). the issue with NYC is that beyond man made barriers mother nature has limited its growth primarily with the Hudson River which is expensive to build crossings on. (Compared to the Missouri or MIssissippi above Cairo, Il) The same issue of Water barriers applies to the Bay Area, plus mountains as well, and mountains to LA (where landslides fires and floods make the mountains not good places to build). So the man made limits just make the natural limits worse. Note: Comments are moderated by the editor and are subject to editing. Submit a comment on this article Other reader comments on this item
