I have seen the lightReader comment on: David Koch on Taxes and Ballet Submitted by ben (United States), May 18, 2010 08:25 I think the issue I am having with this as I think through it is that the relationship with income is probably not a linear one, whereas with the inheritance tax it may be more so. Holtz Eakin presents a compelling case that raising income taxes will increase charitable giving, partly because people assume that taxes in the future will come down and make it more advantageous to save or spend. I can't reconcile this with the outer limits of my hypothetical though. If the relationship is non-linear, I can have my cake and eat it too. So I will stick with that story.
