Scalia rarely, if ever, went beyond a line of comity. What about Judge Roy Moore, who flouted federal law and the Supreme Court on issues of homosexual rights and separation of church and state. Or for that matter Justice Taney himself - this interpretation means even those who kept people enslaved could only be met with polite discourse on their legal reasoning. Criticizing people who "reviled" those judges really puts this verse to test, not something as crude as Trump's race-tinged attack on the Trump University judge.
