Oath to uphold the ConstitutionReader comment on: Tariffs, Congress, and the Constitution Submitted by Henry Cunningham (United States), Jun 23, 2018 11:45 Don't all elected Senators and Congressmen, as well as the President and military officers take an oath to uphold the Constitution? Isn't a "law" giving the President powers that the Constitution gives solely to Congress an INVALID ATTEMPTED CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT? Can Congress amend the Constitution by passing a statute? Are there not provisions for amendments that MUST be followed? Note: Comments are moderated by the editor and are subject to editing. Comment on this item |
