Big missReader comment on: Why Is College In America 'So Expensive'? Submitted by Douglas Levene (United States), Sep 12, 2018 18:18 There were many flaws in the Atlantic article, several of which are addressed here. Another notable flaw was the author's complete failure to reference the econometric study that showed that it was the availability of subsidized student loans that produced the vast runup in tuition over the past 30 years. Those loans increased the demand for college but did not increase the supply and you know what happens when demand increases when supply is held constant.
