If Mr Winter truly was serious when he states that the "income defense industry" is hurting the non-elite then he would support a flat tax rate where this "income defense industry" will disappear. This "industry" growth is another example of the law of unintended results, in this case an outgrowth of the progressive tax codes. If Mr Winter wanted to eliminate this parasitic industry he first must replace this progressive tax structure with a flat tax rate. This change would dismantle this parasitic "industry." Something tells me the professor would not support a flat tax rate.
