False article premise--Station wagons survived for many years after advent of minivan
Reader comment on: How Regulation Killed the Station Wagon and Created the Minivan
Submitted by KillaB (United States), Jul 6, 2019 20:38
Station wagons had about the same mileage as their sedan brethren. But minivans were more practical, and the high seating position was attractive. Still, station wagons survived well into the 1990s, like the 96 Buick pictured. But they didn't sell well so Detroit gave up on them. But foreign companies like Subaru (legacy wagon), Volvo, VW and Mercedes continued to build them well into the 2000s. All except Subaru still do.
