Thank goodness the trend is back to more freedom of speech. There are always reasons to restrict it, but the one reason that the constitution guarantees it trumps them all. If there is genuine concern about the corrupting influence of campaign contributions, implement term-limits. The money will dry up immediately. No one will invest huge sums to corrupt a congressperson that will not be around long enough to develop the network of corrupt cronies required to make the corruption profitable.
