By your own reasoning, isn't all that matters in the deal the years that this Congress can control? Doing anything that promises out years is dubious.

Better to get past this debt ceiling issue, in which they have been totally outmaneouvered as usual, and begin passing as many reductions in spending as possible. Allow the One and the Senate to go on record as to why he will not pass them.
