The last clauseReader comment on: The Broken Windows Fallacy Submitted by Lyle (United States), Aug 28, 2011 16:28 Shutting down a business is a life saving measure, not a property saving measure. The property will still be flooded, but lives may be spared. It also reduces the risk to first responders when folks who stay decided they need to be rescued, and so it is hard to see how Federal repair assistance affects the desire to save lives.
